Thijs Mauve (Scheveningen 1915-Milton Combe 1996) was an artist, well-known for his landscapes, member of Pulchri Studio in The Hague and Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam. He moved from The Netherlands to Devon. His grandfather was the famous ‘Haagse School’ artist Anton Mauve. This painting, oil on board is signed Th. Mauve, on the back, c. 1921, titled ‘Brabants Tuintje’, painted for ‘Maria’. In good condition 74×60/63×48.
