The city of Rotterdam was home to one of the most famous European philosphers, Desiderius Erasmus. To honour their fellow-citizen, the government of Rotterdam asked Leo van Vugt tot make this etching. Leo van Vugt (1951) exhibited in various galleries and museums throughout Europe and his work can also be found in various collections. In very good condition, signed and dated Leo van Vugt 1984, edition 91/100, frame 66×51, etching 53×38.
