In the important Dutch tradition of constructivism, starting in the 1910s with the work of Mondriaan en Theo van Doesburg – the movement of De Stijl – the Amsterdam based painter Henk Martelhof (1917-2000) made very subtle abstract-geometric work, ‘Compositie’, like this one from 1983, acrylic on board, in very good condition, framed, 40×40.
