Well-used guardian or “Botchoi”- figure; used to protect the courtyards of families. This specific figure has been offered on and has a nice dark patina. Also traces of red clay. Fon tribe Togo, second half 20th century, face carved in the typical Fon-style in hardwood. Height; 21 cm. From a private Dutch collection.
